Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort

Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort
Ultimate Resort

This award-winning resort is sheltered among 400 acres of beautiful rolling countryside, and it overlooks the scenic shores of a private spring-fed lake. Waldenwoods features fun for all four seasons, blending the simple life of the past with the convenience of modern amenities.

Spacious and grassy campsites and lush trees sit at the edge of Lake Walden, a tranquil place to enjoy canoeing, kayaking or fishing. Plenty of indoor fun includes scheduled activities along with game tables for leisurely sets of ping pong and shuffleboard. Family friendly means the kids can head for the playground while the bigger kids stroll over to the golf course.

Waldenwoods is also a fairy-tale venue for conferences and weddings with its charming Cromaine Lodge on the lake. Several locations serve as ceremony settings, indoor or out.

Nearby Ann Arbor, Detroit, Flint and Lansing offer more opportunities for both culture and recreation. Ann Arbor boasts “a small-town feel with the excitement of a big city.” Lots of festivals year round make this location a great day trip getaway. Visitors can shop, eat and drink their way through town with the vast assortment of restaurants, markets and malls. History buffs, check out the Yankee Air Museum and the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History. Both offer permanent and rotating exhibits.

Detroit, the largest city in the state, is a hub for nationally acclaimed entertainment, from concerts and nightclubs to galleries and auto attractions. This is, after all, the “Motor City” of the United States. There’s street art around every corner, and street tours cover food, prohibition, jazz and Motown themes. Stop by the Sea Life Michigan Aquarium for face-to-face encounters with sharks, stingrays, jellyfish and other marine creatures.

Many possibilities await in Flint. The area offers 21 outdoor parks and 11,000 acres of woodlands. Thirty-two nearby lakes provide plenty of water activities, and galleries and museums cater to the cultural crowd.

Amenities: Clubhouse, lounge, natural spring fed lake, sandy beach area, marina, water sport rentals, basketball court, beach volleyball, Olympic size swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, horseshoes, golf course, tennis court, lakeside cafe, kite field, planned activities, playgrounds, hay rides, pavilion, ping pong, pool table, RV storage, security system.
