Eagles Landing RV Resort & Recreation

Eagles Landing RV Resort & Recreation
Ultimate Resort

Located in northeastern Oklahoma on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees, one of the state’s finest fishing lakes, Eagles Landing Resort offers a multitude of recreational opportunities and chances to explore and participate in the heritage of the area. Water sports, world-class entertainment, and living history are the hallmarks of the lake and surrounding area.

Grand Lake’s almost 60,000 surface acres are the result of the 1940 completion of the 1 1/2 mile-long Pensacola dam, the first hydroelectric facility in the state and still the "World's Longest Multiple Arch Dam." The impressive dam and lake provide favorite fishing spots for even the most discriminating fishermen and a playground for boating, skiing, windsurfing, diving, and riverboat cruises.

Nature adventures and explorations can be extended in nearby state parks, including Adair, Bernice, Disney/Little Blue, Honey Creek, and Lake Eucha. Quiet and tranquility are the foundations of Lendonwood Garden, a Japanese-style botanical garden, and Satsuki Garden, which incorporates all of the essential elements of Japanese landscaping (including a koi pond) which is especially impressive in spring and summer.

The Dobson Museum in Miami is run by the Ottawa County Historical Society and provides a vivid picture of the history and culture of native inhabitants. Deep insight into native culture and history can be gained at Sequoyah’s Home, near Sallisaw, a couple of hours’ drive to south of Miami. Sequoyah is the inventor of the Cherokee alphabet and responsible for laying the foundation of literacy in the Cherokee Nation. In the town of Tahlequah are the Cherokee Heritage Center, the Cherokee National Capitol, and performances of a heartrending resettlement of native peoples — “The Trail of Tears” (July-August).

Other worthwhile events include the Annual Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo in Vinita, OK (August), the Fiddle Fest (June), the Music Festival (September), and the Pelican Festival (September). For more great music, it’s only a short drive to Branson, MO.

Amenities: The resort has a new 5,700 sq. ft. clubhouse, fitness center, pavilion, outdoor swimming pool, new beach entry pool, koi pond, kayaks, theatre room, laundry facilities, WiFi, picnic area, horseshoes, volleyball, sports field, miniature golf, arcade game room, lake, lake swimming, lake fishing (license required), pond, pond fishing (license required), boating, and paddle boats.
